Queen Anne LL Coach Training

Queen Anne Little League is excited to bring back former NCAA D-I Head Coach and former professional player, Mark Linden of Baseball Positive to lead our Coach & Parent Training program.  In addition to his experience at higher levels of the game Mark has worked the past nine years exclusively at the 12U level.  He brings a unique insight and approach for teaching the game effectively to young players.  The Baseball Positive system of coaching provides structure and efficiency to practice planning, running drills and building skills.

ATTENTION PARENTS!

You are invited to attend one of the league sponsored Coaching Clinics in February and March.

Our coaches are volunteers and parents just like you.  Managing 12 kids on a ball field and keeping them active, learning and having fun throughout a practice is a job requiring more than one or two coaches.

Parents can be very helpful during a practice even if it’s simply catching throws during drills, helping the kids transition from drill to drill or shagging balls.  Some parents progress to assisting with drills as the season unfolds.

You are strongly urged to make time to attend one of the league’s coaching clinics.  Basic terminology, core drills run during practices and the structure of an effective practice are examples of clinic content.   You will recognize that helping kids develop baseball and softball skills does not require you to be an expert.

The more bodies we have on the field at each practice translates into a more active and fun environment for the kids and helps them to develop their skills quicker and to a higher degree of mastery.

Clinic Schedule:

Feb 28, Tuesday,   600pm-830pm      1st Year Player Pitch     @ Fairview Church (844 NE 78th St - one mile north of Greenlake)
Mar  5, Sunday,     600pm-830pm       Coach/Machine Pitch   @ Fairview Church
Mar 25, Saturday, 1030am-1230pm   Tee-Ball                    @ East Greenlake Park

QALL Pre-Season Skills Classes

QALL Pre-Season Skills Classes - Wallingford Boys & Girls Club

Batting (Baseball and Softball) & Pitching (Baseball)

Sundays, Feb 26 - Mar 26   -   Space is Limited, Sign-up Today!

Queen Anne Little League continues its long running relationship with Baseball Positive, the area’s top instruction organization for players and coaches at the 12U level of play.   Many of you know BP Director, former professional player and NCAA D-1 Head Coach, Mark Linden and BP Lead Instructor and former player at Seattle U, Sean Narby from the many programs they have run with QALL.

In these classes, players improve their skills, increase their confidence, and retain what they learn.  Kids excel in these programs because the teaching uses language that is meaningful to them, follows a step-by-step, building block approach and provides the most important factor in skill development - massive quality repetitions.

ATTN: COACHES & PARENTS

Please join in and learn right along with the players!

Baseball Positive demystifies and simplifies the teaching of skills.  These classes are designed for Coaches and Parents to participate and learn “How to Teach” kids effectively, while the hands-on experience is invaluable.  The more knowledge we have in our league, the stronger our league.

Each participating coach and parent receives a Coaching Manual that includes all the program’s content.  The manual has video and pictures illustrating key points.  Teaching these skills to kids is quite elementary, when following the Baseball Positive approach.

Coaches and Parents who do not have a child in the program are welcome and invited to participate and learn the content. Contact Mark Linden of Baseball Positive about the teaching process and the coaching information: 206 714 5276;
