T-Ball FAQ

When will I be notified of my player’s team?

We do our best to notify all players and coaches of their team assignments by March 10th

Can you guarantee specific coach and teammate requests?

We do our best to meet as many requests as possible.  Still, there is no guarantee every request can be granted.

How many coaches are permitted on a team?

Teams work best when there is one manager and at least two assistant coaches.  Managers are responsible for ensuring all parents and players are aware of their team’s schedule, adhere to the rules of the game, and maintain proper safety measures.  Managers also organize lineups, player positioning, and other essentials such as rainout notifications.  Assistant coaches support the manager and play critical roles in helping practices and games run smoothly, and keeping players active and engaged.

How many hours/week are required of coaches?

Commitment is typically two hours/week, allocated over two days/week.

When will practices begin?

Tee-ball practices generally begin in mid-March.  Coaches and players will be notified as soon as their practice schedule is available.  Weekday practices may begin as early as 5pm.  Saturday practices are typically scheduled for sometime between 9am-1pm.  Given the number of teams in our league, we are unable to accommodate specific practice time requests.

When will games begin?

Tee-ball games will begin in early April and generally conclude by the end of May.  Most weeks, two 60-minute games will be scheduled.  Coaches and players will be notified as soon as their game schedule is available.  Weekday games may begin as early as 5pm.  Saturdaygames are typically scheduled for sometime between 9am-1pm.  Given the number of teams in our league, we are unable to accommodate specific game time requests.

Where will games be located?

Tee ball games are played at Little Howe park and Interbay playfields.

What equipment is provided by the league?

Bats, bases, tees, and helmets are available in lockers located at each field of play.  For a variety of reasons, we recommend players invest in their own helmet.  Players are expected to begin the season with their own baseball glove and many also bring in their own bat.  Jerseys and caps are provided by Queen Anne Little League.  Baseballs are distributed to coaches before the season begins.

One more note:

Queen Anne Little League is a 100% volunteer organization that wouldn’t exist without generous contributions from people like you.  If you haven’t already done so, please consider volunteering to coach by noting your availability while registering your player(s).  Coaching is a terrific opportunity to spend time with your son(s) and/or daughter(s) and get to know other parents in the neighborhood.  Plus: the kids love it!

Have a great season.
